Tems was born in Lagos in 1996. At school, she was noticed by her music teacher who inspired her to learn the piano.
She would normally practice singing with her brother’s guitar.

Tems Career
She joined the Choir in secondary school, recorded tunes each day with her senior brother who had a guitar. She became quite close to her music teacher, who gave her extra attention and assistance.
She learned how to play the piano, and consequently compiled the inspirations and influences gotten from Asa, Frank Ocean, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Beyoncé, and Rihanna, to produce authentics tunes of her own.
TemsIn 2018 she recorded Mr. Rebel – a song of her own composition. In 2020, DJ Edu chose her as one of “ten artists to watch” that year.
She was recruited that year by American singer Khalid to join him and fellow Nigerian Davido on an Afrobeats remix of “Know Your Worth”.
